Community. Community. Empower. Unity. Innovation.

Oxford College of Education’s inclusive culture is rooted in a firm belief that the benchmark of any society is reflected in how it treats its most vulnerable members. We recognize the importance of establishing close ties with local community partners to ensure that our services provide a positive impact on the communities we serve.

Building a Learning Together

Oxford College of Education’s success stems from a service offer that meets the educational and employment needs of local communities, which includes the HR needs of employers serving those communities. We work with local community representatives to develop our programs and run focus groups throughout the year where community stakeholders and employers meet to discuss skills and employment matters that affect them most.

This provides a ‘user-informed’ foundation from which Oxford College of Education plans and designs the most appropriate provisions to address the needs of the local community. By working closely with community stakeholders and employers, we are able to identify emerging needs and respond quickly and effectively to reduce the impact on disadvantaged groups.

A Diverse Place to Learn & Grow

Oxford College of Education strives to work and collaborate with community groups to strengthen integration, regeneration, and opportunities for all.

With this in mind, we have six community objectives:

  1. To be the partner of choice for local and regional support groups and organizations providing frontline support services to disadvantaged people.
  2. To have a pipeline of community organizations to whom Oxford College of Education can signpost participants.
  3. To offer partnership and collaborative opportunities to VCSE (Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise) and local groups.
  4. To be a ‘Community Champion’ promoting the involvement of community groups within Oxford College of Education’s services.
  5. To provide a free CV writing and cover letter program for local community members in Buckinghamshire who wish to enhance their employment prospects. Interested individuals can contact us to join this program.
  6. To offer scholarships for disadvantaged learners in Buckinghamshire who have not completed their GCSEs, providing a free online GCSE program to support local learners in continuing their education.

Oxford College of Education encourages local groups and community organizations to get involved in our work. If you work for a VCSE group or would like more information about collaborative opportunities, please contact us.
